Use of Face Masks and Self-Perceived Breath Odour Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic- A Cross Sectional Online Questionnaire-Based Study

Background: Self-perception rate of bad breath is usually low. Unprecedented and massive use face masks throughout the Covid-19 pandemic could have a bearing on increased self-perception odour.
 Aims Objectives: To assess self-perceived odour (SPBO) associated with unprecedented wearing amidst pandemic.
 Methodology: A cross-sectional study was carried out involving 547 subjects. well-structured questionnaire sent to participants utilizing online social media platforms. The data collected assessed statistically analysed.
 Results: Changes in were reported by 190 participants. Females had higher SPBO than males post Facemask usage. Post significantly smoking, systemic conditions, period mask previous diagnosis halitosis.
 Conclusion: Wearing facemasks are pronouncedly which highly time its use. after facemask usage more smokers, those medication having previously been diagnosed Keywords: odour, COVID-19, mask, halitosis,
